Happy (Haunted!) Halloween!

Hello my wonderful viewers! Happy Halloween! It’s Maya here to show you our amazing costumes! First is Isabelle!  This year, she is being Elsa from the frozen movie. We sewed her dress together, and it took a looonnngggg time, but I think it was worth it 🙂

And then next is Samantha! She’s Eliza Schuyler from the musical Hamilton! I think that’s really creative- both she and Caitlin love Hamilton!

Speaking of Caitlin, her costume is a NASA astronaut. Cait-y loves space, and hopes to be an astronaut someday. When we found this costume, we both looked at each other thinking the same thing- It was perfect!

Okay, now my wonderful outfit- I’m an actor! I started out wearing my favorite gymnastics leotard- maybe it would make a good costume! But somebodyyy (*cough* Caitlin *cough*) Brought up the (valid) point that I already was a gymnast. Sooooo, I went with my backup plan. And I have to admit, it’s pretty great, am I right?  I love the sparkly fabric. Hooray for bargain bin dresses!

Okay, and we finally have Evelyn- she’s a baker, since she loves cooking so much- Wait, can I smell cookies or is that just my imagination? Hold on, let me check

Okay, I’m back- and yes, she’s making some pumpkin spice cookies. Yum! I love the beginning of the holiday season, mostly because Evelyn is usually whipping up a batch of cookies every ten minutes. Which I love. except for that one time where she was on this whole “healthy eating” kick… but that’s for another story. Time to go grab some cookies.

*Hands you cookies through the screen*

Fly High, Bella <3

Hello, everyone. Today, it is with much sadness that I pay my tribute to Bella Mutean, otherwise known as thenookdolls on instagram.

Bella passed away on April 6th due to a battle with a rare type of bone cancer called osteosarcoma.

Although I didn’t know her, Bella was very kind, inspiring and brave throughout her treatment. The community will miss her dearly, and will never be the same again. She posted beautiful photos and stayed hopeful throughout her treatment. Bella had a loving heart and was always ready to help others in need.

#Flyhighbella. We’ll miss you.

Happy Birthday, Evelyn!

Hello my friends! It’s Evelyn, back with another post! Today is a very special day…. can you guess?

It’s my birthday!!!!

Today, when I woke up, I saw that Isabelle, Maya, Caitlin and Samantha had put together a little party for me! How exciting! There was a big pile of presents waiting, too!img_2034.jpg

Here’s a picture from when I had just met Maya and Isabelle! Back when we took this photo, we weren’t so good at photography! 😛

Well, that’s it from me! Samantha’s about to serve up some of the delicious cake she made!

See ya!

Evelyn 🙂

Building a dollhouse!

Hi everyone, Isabelle here! This weekend, I took on a big project- creating a dollhouse for mini Elizabeth and Rebecca! I decided to use foam board for my walls, since it holds up nice and is relatively inexpensive. Here’s some pictures of me building it!

Measuring out the boards!

The dollhouse turned out great, and I am so excited to start decorating it!

Until next time, Isabelle ❤

A Lake Adventure!

Hey everyone! Evelyn here! Recently, I went down and explored the lake behind the fence in our backyard. I had a great time. Pepper came along too, of course! We packed some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and started off. Eventually, Maya and Isabelle joined me, and we all went swimming together. The scenery was beautiful, and Maya and I took these pictures with my new camera, didn’t they turn out great? When the sun started to set, we all dried off and hiked back to the house, where we had some tasty hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. It was the perfect afternoon. -Evelyn

Welcome, Caitlin!

Hi, I’m Caitlin, the newest addition to the family! I was added on December 28th, 2017. I love photography, art, baking and roller skating! My favorite foods are tacos and pears, and my favorite colors are blue and purple (I just can’t decide!). I love my new house and my sisters and am excited to go on some fun adventures! -Caitlin

Stopmotion Tutorial

Hey everyone! Welcome to my second post, and today I’m doing a stopmotion tutorial! I love stopmotion, and especially making stopmotions with my dolls!

First: What is stopmotion?

Stopmotion is a filmaking animation technique used to make it look like inanimate objects are moving.

Step 1: Download a stopmotion app!

I like to use Stopmotion Studios, which can be found on the App Store. There’s a free version and a paid version in which you get special effects. You can also use different apps, I know some people use imovie, but I don’t recommend this.

Step 2: Make a set and dress your actors!

This is a fun, but time-consuming step. Making sets can take a long time if you want a professional vibe.

Step 3: Stop-motion!

First, take a picture, then, move your subject a bit and take another picture. Once you have enough pictures, you can play them at a very fast rate that makes it appear that your subject is moving. This is also quite time consuming, but it’ll all be worth it when you see the final effect. After you’ve made your movie, you can add in voices and music!

That’s all I have for today! I hope this (simple) tutorial helps. Until next time! -Athena
